Job Description

The Medical Coding Specialist will translate medical documentation into accurate codes,
ensuring compliance with guidelines and supporting healthcare providers in effective claims
management.

Key Responsibilities:
Translate patient medical documents, including physician’s notes, lab reports, diagnoses,
and procedures, into standardized codes.
Ensure accuracy and adherence to medical coding guidelines and policies.
Audit clinical documentation and coded data for quality and compliance.
Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions to prevent coding errors.
Generate reports and analytics on coding productivity and accuracy.
Research and analyze medical malpractice claims, identifying key events and
discrepancies.
Prepare summaries and assign appropriate codes to medical documentation.

Required Qualifications:
2–5 years of experience in medical coding.
AAPC certification is mandatory.
Strong understanding of medical coding standards and compliance guidelines.
Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Proficiency in coding software and tools.
